For those who are interested, here's a full description of the breed: A wonderful family dog playful, loyal, affectionate and, once trained, extremely wellbehaved in the house. Very good guard dog, good with children and people in general (as long as you are not in the process of breaking in, in which case you're on your own), a dog you will love with all your heart and have that love returned with interest. Important to note that Akitas are a very dominant and wilful breed and are not easy to train, so should not be taken on without full research and consideration of what is required. Strong hunting instincts and the need to dominate other dogs should be allowed for when out walking (Basically, they would make good Sumo wrestlers.) Give them plenty of love, train them properly and allow for their natural instincts and you will never regret the day you decided to adopt one.
